Slaughterhouse 5

Today was the first day in my new job. I hate it already. The job involves inspecting dead animal bodies at a slaughterhouse in the nearby town of Selfoss. Mostly it consists of standing on the line, inspecting the carcasses for any sign of infections, such as abcesses (yuk!). I also take samples to test for salmonella, the most feared bug. Only a few farms have ever tested positive for it, none of the ones sending to this slaugherhouse, fortunately...
